Each year globally over 150 million animals are killed in vivisection labs, causing great suffering and, ultimately, death to every animal involved.
The UK has one of the highest figures in terms of animals used, currently at almost 4 million and rising.
Vivisection is bad science and harms humans too, with adverse reactions to prescribed drugs it is the fourth biggest cause of premature death in the UK. Only cancer, heart disease and stroke claim more victims.
World Day for animals in Laboratories is officially April 24th and we are asking people to campaign in various ways, on and around this date, to raise public awareness of the suffering and slaughter of animals in laboratories and to show that there are many humane alternatives to animal testing.
Cats, dogs, monkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice and many other animals suffer and die needlessly in labs around the world and this needs to be stopped, for our good, as well as theirs.
There are many effective humane alternatives, such as micro dosing, epidemiology,
cell cultures, computer modelling and human trials -
Please join us to show your disgust at what happens to these animals and to raise awareness with the public and policy makers, who can help change things for the better.
We really can make a difference.
